Goodbye to Reinier Jesus: how many matches has he played with Madrid
Madrid paid €30 million for the Brazilian, and he is leaving for Atlético Mineiro without playing any official matches
Reinier Jesus is now part of Real Madrid's history. The Brazilian attacking midfielder, signed in February 2020 for 30 million euros, is leaving without having played a single official minute with the first team.
At his presentation, Florentino Pérez told him: "Today you're wearing Real Madrid's jersey for the first time." It was the first... and the last.
He only played three matches with Castilla, in which he scored a brace against Coruxo. Shortly after, the pandemic arrived and a series of loans began that shaped his career.

Five years of loans and without consolidating
His first experience was at Borussia Dortmund, two seasons, where he played just 8.5% of the minutes. He went through three coaches and none trusted him. He arrived out of shape, had adaptation problems, and loneliness weighed on him.
In 2022 he joined Girona on loan. Michel highlighted his talent, but injuries held him back. He played more than in Germany, although it was not enough for him to take off.
In 2023 he tried at Frosinone, in Serie A. Again, he arrived lacking match fitness. He scored three goals and provided two assists, but the team was relegated.
His last stage was at Granada, in the second division. Just 15 minutes since March and, in the last matches, not even drafted. Another relegation on his record.

From promise to definitive exit
Reinier arrived as one of the major bets of the young Brazilian policy that Madrid started with Vinícius. He was even compared to Kaká and Raí. He himself said he saw himself reflected in the former Milan player because of his acceleration and quality.
At Flamengo he had scored six goals in 15 matches. He seemed destined to shine in Europe, but his reality on the Old Continent was very different.
Last Friday, club and player agreed to terminate his contract. He had one year left, but all parties understood that it was best to go their separate ways.
Now he's returning to Brazil to play for Atlético Mineiro: "I was on loan for five years. I wasn't happy," he confessed. He also thanked the affection he received at his new club, something that, according to him, he didn't have before.
The final balance is devastating: five years, zero matches with Madrid, and a career marked by loans, injuries, and missed opportunities. The Reinier chapter at Bernabéu closes without glory.
