Guardiola Debates Between 2 Madridists for Manchester City, Will Sign 1

The Madrid star who could join Manchester City due to Josep Guardiola's interest

There are fewer and fewer days left until Real Madrid and Manchester City face each other again. In their fourth consecutive meeting in the Champions League, both clubs are preparing for this clash.  However, while the squads are getting ready, Guardiola has started to debate between two Madridists he wants to sign.

Looking to strengthen his left-back position, the Spanish coach has set his sights on Miguel Gutiérrez. The Girona left-back, thanks to his excellent performance with the club, has shown he has the level to join another team. Although Real Madrid is interested in the return of their youth player, Manchester City could interfere in the situation.

The other Madridist that interests Guardiola is none other than Theo Hernández. The AC Milan left-back has demonstrated that he has the experience and quality necessary to shine in a top-level European team.

Guardiola's decision

At 23 years old, Miguel Gutiérrez has managed to establish himself with Girona as a high-level player.  After last season's historic performance, where he fought for LaLiga, the left-back demonstrated his level but, above all, his leadership. Although he has a contract until 2027, the interest he has caused has made this season likely his last with Girona.

Meanwhile, Theo Hernández, the 27-year-old French left-back, continues to demonstrate his quality under Milan's colors.  The 2,478 minutes he has played this season and being the club's captain clearly indicate the level Theo has achieved.

Given the quality of both left-backs, it's understandable the terrible indecision Guardiola has in deciding whom to sign for an upcoming market.  However, the 50% rights that Real Madrid holds over Miguel place the player closer to the Merengue club.

The left-back to choose

With the issue of the rights that Real Madrid maintains, it's evident that a signing of Miguel by Manchester City will be complicated. Even so, the markets have always been characterized by providing surprises, so nothing is defined for Miguel and Theo.
