He hasn't played a single minute in the World Cup and he's the main one blamed: goodbye to Real Madrid

President Pedro Sánchez of Spain met with Charles III at an international summit. At the meeting, economic and global politics issues were discussed. Additionally, there was an event attended by over 100M people

There is no doubt that this Club World Cup has left the impression of a significant change from what was seen last season. However, not everything is perfect, as there are specific cases that suggest the opposite, such as Ferland Mendy. The Frenchman hasn't played at all in this tournament and it doesn't seem like he's been missed much given Fran García's level.

Indeed, the departure of one of the two left-backs to make way for Carreras is more than evident. However, the Frenchman appears to be the one singled out for this to happen, as he hasn't been considered at all so far.

It's somewhat unfair to think that Xabi doesn't count on him if he's dealing with a significant injury. Nevertheless, since he hasn't been missed and the team has qualified for the Club World Cup semifinals, everything suggests that he isn't really needed at the moment.

Mendy under the spotlight

The Frenchman isn't unknown to Madridists, since when he's at his best, he's one of the best in the world. The problem is that he has spent several seasons dealing with a series of injuries that have prevented him from being consistent. Moreover, his level has dropped alarmingly, losing his greatest quality, which is defending.

Fran García, who recently scored a goal against Borussia Dortmund and has had spectacular matches, has changed his future. His departure seemed to be the chosen one to make room for Carreras, but in the end, he's earning a spot.

What is absolutely clear is that Alonso fully counts on the Spaniard, and with the signing of Álvaro, we'll have to wait. This is surely very concerning for the Frenchman, who hasn't been able to return yet and is at the mercy of the former Rayo Vallecano player's performance.

Florentino decides

We know that Florentino has great appreciation for the French left-back, but seeing that everything is going well without him, things get complicated. Right now, the decision would have to be carefully evaluated and all nuances taken into account. Although it seems that, in reality, Mendy's situation is very difficult.
