Huge $75M offer for a star linked to Real Madrid

The young prospect who could turn down Real Madrid's interest in the face of a multi-million-euro offer

Over the years, Real Madrid has focused on signing more and more young prospects. With the intention of securing both its present and its future, the club has succeeded in most of these transfers. However, according to Defensa Central, Al Ittihad is preparing a €75 million ($81.6 million) offer to sign Rodrigo Mora.

The young Portuguese midfielder, developed at Porto, was one of Real Madrid's main targets. With tremendous talent and the potential to become a great star, the club kept a close eye on his progress. However, even though the €75 million ($81.6 million) offer is expected to be paid in installments, Saudi Arabia is bidding strongly for the player.

Porto, known for selling its players at exorbitant prices, could be tempted to let its young prospect go. The offer from Saudi Arabia clearly isn't intended to be matched by Real Madrid. Even though the team remains interested, it has no intention of paying €75 million ($81.6 million) or even more if a bidding war breaks out.

Arabia's interference

Having been part of Porto's youth academy since 2016, Rodrigo Mora was promoted to the first team last summer. At just 18 years old, Rodrigo managed to play a total of 2,391 minutes. Although Porto didn't manage to win the Portuguese league title, Rodrigo established himself as one of its best players.

With 12 goals and 4 assists, his impact was such that Rodrigo is one of the nominees to win the Kopa Trophy. While he has a contract until 2030, this doesn't seem to matter to Al Ittihad. Although no offer has been made for him yet, €75 million ($81.6 million) is an amount that Porto might find hard to refuse.

Real Madrid could choose to try to win this signing over the Arab club and secure Rodrigo's services. However, Arab clubs are known for having enormous capital to sign players. This could cause, if Real Madrid competes for this signing, the €75 million ($81.6 million) value for Rodrigo to increase.

A peculiar destination

Rodrigo Mora hasn't made a decision yet regarding his future in Europe and, above all, at Porto. The offer from Saudi Arabia, if presented, could be the best the player receives in his entire career. However, at such a young age and with still much to prove, it would be a surprise if Rodrigo accepts Al Ittihad's offer.
