X Huijsen, new Real Madrid player: Arnold is next and it's already official
The international center-back with Spain has already been announced as the first signing for the 2025-26 season
Real Madrid already has a new center-back. Dean Huijsen has been officially announced as the new player for the white club. He signs a contract until June 2030.
The signing was completed this Friday, May 16, after passing the medical examination in London. Everything went as planned. The agreement with Bournemouth includes the payment of 58.5 million euros, divided into three installments.
He will be in the Club World Cup
Huijsen will immediately join the team's dynamics when the current season ends next week. The club wants him to be available for the Club World Cup, which starts next June 18.
It will be the first major tournament for the defender wearing the Madrid jersey. It is also the debut under the orders of Xabi Alonso, who will lead the team for the first time.
In Valdebebas, they consider him a strategic bet. He is young, but he already shows a very high level in the elite. At only 20 years old, he is seen as one of the center-backs with the most future in Europe.
Power, technique, and vision
Huijsen has stood out this season in the Premier League with Bournemouth. He arrived in England in the summer of 2024 from Juventus, in exchange for 15 million euros.
Although he barely played in Juve's first team, he excelled during his loan at Roma. Mourinho was one of his first great supporters. This season, under Andoni Iraola, he has made a definitive leap.
He has physical power, good positioning, and a great ball exit, something key for the style that is intended to be implemented with Xabi Alonso.
Real Madrid didn't have it easy. Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Newcastle inquired about him. Also teams from Italy and Germany.
But Huijsen was clear. He wanted to play at Bernabéu. He waited for Madrid, rejecting other more advanced proposals. Now, he is already a white player.

Coming from Bournemouth, the center-back is one of the nominees for the best young player in the Premier League in the 2024-25 season.
Huijsen debuted with the Spanish national team last March. He was trained in Málaga's youth categories and in 2021 signed for Juventus's youth academy, where he debuted with the first team in a match against Milan. Later, he played half a season on loan at Roma to finally join Bournemouth.
