Immediate signing after Carreras, Madrid is going for him: 'A chess match'

Carreras's signing might not be the last one, and this player is on the table to join the club

Real Madrid's transfer market, although some believe it is already closing with the signing of Álvaro Carreras, could change. Right now, the option of a signing right after the Benfica footballer to strengthen the defense is being considered. We're referring to Ibrahima Konaté, a Liverpool footballer who's on the white squad's radar.

The defensive scheme of the Merengue team in this tournament was rather disastrous without the presence of its new addition, Dean Huijsen. That's why, according to what Defensa Central has learned, signing this player would be one of the main needs for the future.

However, although the Merengue team's plan is to sign him in 2026, for free when his contract ends, they could speed up the process. With one year left on his contract, the price could drop much more than desired and, with that, they could bring him in immediately.

The plan has changed

This player, who's estimated to be worth around €60 million (about $65 million) or even more for playing in the Premier League, is one of Real Madrid's transfer targets. It's important to note that his level this season has been outstanding in a Liverpool that won the Premier League.

He played more than 3,300 minutes (3,300 min) throughout the season with the Reds, which clearly shows his importance. Above all, considering that he played more than 42 matches where he contributed four goals as a central defender.

His signing was scheduled for next year completely free, but given the current situation, there doesn't seem to be any other option but to speed up his arrival. Considering what we mentioned earlier, his price could drop considerably to the point of making it affordable. All with the intention of improving the defensive system, which has been severely weakened in this tournament.

Florentino decides

Once again, the Merengue president has the final say regarding the white squad's transfer moves. We may be facing one of the most important transfer windows in recent years if Florentino completes this signing and perhaps a few more.
