Inda reveals why Real Madrid haven't signed Joan García: 'The signing will be…'

Real Madrid chooses a candidate for the goalkeeping position who has led them to rule out Joan García

Real Madrid had been following Joan García since he was with Espanyol in the Second Division. His performances were highly appreciated in the offices, especially after the promotion to the First Division. He has become one of the most outstanding goalkeepers this season, with the most saves.

It seemed that Real Madrid was going to go after his signing this summer, especially if Lunin left. Right now, he's closer to Barça, with whom he would already have an agreement. He's waiting for Laporta to pull something out of his sleeve to make room for his registration.

Madridists haven't wanted to get involved in negotiating with Espanyol for his possible signing. Although they would've had many chances to reach an agreement with the Perico club, they've ruled out that possibility, since they have another candidate for the goal in their sights.

This is Diogo Costa, Porto and Portugal's goalkeeper who's performed at a high level. His performances in the Nations League haven't gone unnoticed by Real Madrid. They're already considering going after his signing, drawing up a plan to make it happen, according to Inda's outlet.

Real Madrid looks at Diogo Costa although they set two conditions

At Real Madrid, they're clear that Diogo Costa has enough quality to become the starting goalkeeper. As we said, his performance with Porto and Portugal has drawn a lot of attention. There are two conditions they set for being able to secure his services.

He has a contract until 2027, so it wouldn't be a signing they're considering for this summer. If Costa still doesn't renew his contract, they could try to make his transfer next summer. At that time, his price could be very reasonable to bring him in as Courtois's backup.

The second condition that must be met is that Lunin doesn't stay at Real Madrid. The Ukrainian's continuity is one of the big unknowns at the moment. If he looks for more minutes, he'd leave and could open up his spot in the team for Diogo Costa.
