Josep Pedrerol Celebrates on Vinícius and His Sanction, Forcefully: The Fairest...

The renowned host spoke about the possible sanction to Vinícius after what happened at Mestalla

Several days have passed and there's still talk about Vinícius's action at Mestalla, when he was sent off with a red card. Carlos Soto Grado expelled the Brazilian for an alleged aggression on Stole Dimitrievski.

This Tuesday, the final decision of the Competition Committee regarding this action will be known. The games Vinícius will miss depend on the message the game referee recorded in the report. "Striking an opponent in the head deliberately, without the ball being in play, using non-negligible force", commented Soto Grado.

Also, the referee also considered the subsequent episode in which Rüdiger and several staff members had to escort him off the field. "Once expelled, the player had to be restrained by his club's members and taken to the changing room while he continued his protests", stated Soto.

How many games will Vini Jr. be suspended for?

Soto Grado, by specifying that the ball was not in play, the action might not be classified as aggression and could be considered 'unsportsmanlike conduct'. This means that, almost certainly, the Brazilian will have to serve a two-game suspension.

In that case, Vinícius would only miss the LaLiga matches against Las Palmas and Real Valladolid. He could, therefore, play without any problem in the Spanish Super Cup matches taking place this week in Saudi Arabia.

Nevertheless, Real Madrid is taking Soto Grado's words in the report very seriously and will file a claim to avoid the suspension. The club believes there was a prior provocation to Vinícius that went unpunished.

What does Josep Pedrerol think?

Regarding the possible matches Vinícius might miss, Josep Pedrerol spoke in the latest edition of "El Chiringuito de Jugones". The presenter is quite clear about the matches the Brazilian should serve.

"I believe we need to take care of the players and there are obvious sanctions. We need to sanction those who intend to harm or injure, and the Committee must analyze that very well. Vinícius gets the goalkeeper out of the way and shouldn't do that", explained the presenter.

"He has already apologized to the locker room for what he did and Vinícius has a lot to learn, no doubt. However, let's not be too harsh on him, it wouldn't be fair", he commented.

However, Josep Pedrerol is very clear about the number of suspension matches. "For Vinícius, 1-2 matches would be fair, some are asking for 4 to 12... for getting the goalkeeper out of the way?", the presenter concluded.
