Juanma Rodríguez Rails Against Barça After the Final for Fair Play: A Little Hallway...
The journalist was outraged by the guard of honor from the Culés to the Blancos and by the payments to Negreira for 17 years
Juanma Rodríguez Didn't Hold Back After the Final Between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. The journalist harshly criticized the blaugrana team for what happened after the match and the refereeing controversy surrounding the game.
At the end of the final, Barça players formed a guard of honor for Real Madrid as a gesture of "fair play." However, for Rodríguez, this gesture was pure theater.
"No, fair play isn't about making a little guard of honor and giving hugs when you win," he stated on his X account.
"True fair play is not paying the vice president of the referees for 17 years," he added, clearly referring to the 'Negreira case,' which continues to affect the Catalan club.
"Stick Your Little Guards of Honor Where They Fit"
Juanma Rodríguez's indignation grew throughout his message. "Stick your little guards of honor where they fit," he said, visibly upset.
The journalist also regretted that Real Madrid had agreed to play the final under those conditions. "It was a mistake to play that final," he stated.
Rodríguez criticized that, despite the pre-match tension over the refereeing, the white club agreed to participate in a match where the atmosphere was already tense.
The Refereeing Controversy Marked the Lead-Up
Days before the match, the atmosphere was already heated. Referee De Burgos Bengoetxea held an unusual press conference to defend his work.
His words didn't convince many, especially in the Madridist environment, where it was seen as an attempt to clean up the refereeing image.
During the match, several controversial decisions once again called into question the impartiality of the refereeing. Bellingham, Lucas Vázquez, and Rüdiger were sent off after protesting vehemently at the end.

Rodríguez recalled that, in this context, gestures like the guard of honor have no real value.
"You can't talk about sportsmanship when you have a scandal like Negreira behind you," he concluded.
A Wound That Remains Open
The 'Negreira case' has left a deep mark on Spanish soccer. For many, like Juanma Rodríguez, there can be no talk of normality or "fair play" while there are no clear consequences.
Real Madrid, who were defeated in the final, return home empty-handed and with the bitter feeling of a battle that, according to voices like Rodríguez's, was lost before it began.
