Juanma Rodríguez delivers a verdict on Atlético for Julián's double touch: forced
The journalist wanted to criticize Atlético fans by reminding them that Florentino included them in the Super League by force
Juanma Rodríguez hasn't held back. The journalist has harshly criticized Atlético de Madrid for their reaction after Julián Álvarez's controversial penalty.
It all started with the now famous "double touch" on the penalty. Julián slipped and hit the ball twice before scoring. Atlético reported the play.
"Denying the obvious"
Rodríguez was very clear in his analysis. "It was denying the obvious", he stated. According to the journalist, Atleti tried to sow doubt from the very beginning, questioning whether the player had really touched the ball twice.

It didn't stop there. The colchonero club even hired a forensic expert. What was their goal? To show that the video was manipulated or edited. They wanted to annul the penalty, claiming a lack of reliable evidence.
Florentino, the new "culprit"
Now, according to Juanma Rodríguez, a third excuse has emerged. "They think there's a man named Florentino Pérez, who's the villain of the story," he said ironically.
The journalist criticized the attempt to blame Real Madrid's president. He also recalled that Florentino keeps an open conflict with UEFA over the Super League issue.
In addition, he wanted to highlight a key fact: on UEFA's executive committee is Atlético de Madrid's CEO, Miguel Ángel Gil Marín.
Real Madrid backed Atlético
Rodríguez went further. He recalled that Real Madrid defended Atleti's entry into the Super League. "They forced them in due to good relations," he stated.
According to him, Madrid has always supported Atlético's inclusion, even though it wasn't a priority. Yet, now it's Gil Marín who's attacking Florentino over the penalty.

Juanma didn't hold back: "It's despicable, regrettable, a real disgrace". He believes Atlético has lost their way in their reaction to the play.
For the journalist, there's no doubt. There was a double touch. The rest is a desperate attempt to divert attention.
The penalty case has already been settled. The controversy remains alive after IFAB's involvement. With statements like Rodríguez's, the atmosphere between both clubs is heating up even more.
