Juni Calafat points to the new Varane: the Ligue 1 center-back who's generating excitement

Real Madrid's scout has identified a talent for the defense and is requesting his signing

Juni Calafat remains very alert to the players who stand out the most on the international stage. An expert at spotting great talents, his signings have been successes for Los Merengues. He is not stopping, as he reportedly has another player in mind for whom he has very good reports.

This is Jeremy Jacquet, a young center-back from Lille who is making a splash in Ligue 1. Journalist Santi Aouna, a great connoisseur of the French market, has indicated Real Madrid's interest. This is something Defensa Central has been able to confirm through sources close to the club.

Real Madrid likes Jacquet, and Juni Calafat is seriously considering bringing him to the team. He would be a player who could come in to complement the rotation in defense. At 20 years old, he ensures the club has a player for that position with a long-term perspective.

Many compare him to his compatriot Raphael Varane, due to his physical characteristics. He stands out with his 6 ft. 3 in. (1.90 m) height, which makes him strong in aerial play thanks to his heading ability. However, his signing could be complicated since he has a contract until 2029.

Real Madrid studies his signing, though not as a priority

Juni Calafat has put Real Madrid on Jeremy Jacquet's trail as a potential signing for the back line. He believes he could be an interesting long-term project and they should not lose sight of him. They will have to assess his development this season to decide whether to go after him.

However, the truth is that Real Madrid do not consider him a priority for next summer.  They are still looking at Konaté, believing he would be a great option for the next summer transfer window. Considering his contract is expiring and Liverpool find it very difficult to renew him.

The idea is to take the same steps they took with Trent so the Frenchman can arrive at Real Madrid on a free transfer. This is the priority on which all efforts are being focused at the club, although they are not ruling out other moves. Especially Juni Calafat, who is always watching the market to find talents.
