From Kissing Madrid Crest to Another LaLiga Club, Florentino Accepts His 'Betrayal'
Asensio is close to leaving Paris and top-tier teams like Mallorca, Villarreal, Betis, and Real Sociedad will try his transfer
Marco Asensio, former Real Madrid player, is close to changing teams in this winter transfer window. In 2023, the Balearic left the white club as a free agent to join PSG. However, his time in Paris has been disappointing.
The striker has barely accumulated 748 minutes in 15 games this season, with only two goals and four assists. At 29 years old, he is seeking a new destination to regain prominence and return to the Spanish national team call-ups.
Return to LaLiga?
According to Ekrem Konur, four LaLiga clubs are interested in transfering Asensio: Villarreal, Betis, Real Sociedad, and Mallorca. The latter could appeal to the sentimental factor to convince the player to return to his homeland.
Additionally, teams like Aston Villa, Juventus, Napoli, and Galatasaray also have him on their radar. However, there are no concrete advances with any club so far.
Time is running out for Asensio. After a year away from the level he showed at Real Madrid, he needs to make a decision that will relaunch his career. Returning to Spain seems like a logical option, but he could also opt for a challenge in other leagues.
Florentino and the end of an era
In his day, Marco Asensio was a key piece for Real Madrid. He kissed the badge after several of his most important goals, earning the affection of Madridists. His departure in 2023 marked the end of an era, and he could now face his former team with another Spanish club.
This signing, if completed, would be a special moment for Asensio and a new chapter in his career. Meanwhile, the winter transfer window remains open, and his future will be decided in the coming days.
