Liverpool's Revenge for Alexander-Arnold, They Tempt a Madrid Target
Anfield Road executives don't waste time replacing the footballer they consider lost
One of the Big Names in Real Madrid's Key in Recent Months is not a player from Santiago Bernabéu locker room. The constant rumors surrounding the possible signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold as a free agent have caused various changes in the roadmap of more than one elite club. Among them, Liverpool itself.
Because the departure of the English homegrown red, heavily criticized by a significant sector of Liverpool fans in recent weeks, leaves a striking gap in the British first team. So much so that the bosses at Anfield Road would have already rushed to make a move to try to replace that important departure of a player fully established in the elite.

The hypothetical arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold at Real Madrid, a move that would be completed as a free agent, has caused an almost immediate response in the Merseyside offices. Because they aspire to replace one of their great stars with a declared Madrid target, seeking "revenge" for the departure of the '66' red with the letter of freedom.
The Liverpool bosses have tried to convince Alexander-Arnold until the end to stay in the Anfield Road locker room, a goal in which they would have failed spectacularly. The young English footballer is clear that his destiny would be in the capital of Spain, eager to try new experiences in the European soccer elite.
Immediate Strategy
To counteract the departure of Alexander-Arnold, the Liverpool bosses would have decided to attempt the incorporation of Andrea Cambiaso. The name of this promising full-back arrived several months ago at the Valdebebas offices, in the midst of a search for players to accelerate the generational change in defense.
But the Juventus of Turin footballer made his way onto the white future list for the left-back position. Although at that time Alphonso Davies was a priority due to the conditions of his signing, also as a free agent, the monitoring of Andrea Cambiaso placed him as one of the alternatives. The failed signing of the Canadian defender, now seriously injured, has made the Madrid executives focus on Cambiaso.

Taking advantage of this circumstance, the British newspaper The Sun reveals Liverpool's move. From the Merseyside offices, they intend to acquire Andrea Cambiaso's card despite the difference in positions... appealing to an Arne Slot who can reconvert the now bianconero defender to mitigate the departure of Alexander-Arnold this very summer.
Without Andrea Cambiaso, Real Madrid would lose one of their best bets to strengthen the left-back position. The position still doesn't present problems, since its two members have contracts until the summer of 2027... and have offered a more than acceptable level in the stretches of the season when they have had to assume the starting role.
