Luis Enrique lashes out at Susana Guasch, tells her to her face: 'Not you...'

The Asturian coach lashed out at the journalist during the Champions League celebration

Luis Enrique has never had a very good relationship with the press, either as a player or as a coach. When he was a player, he had many run-ins every time he had to speak to journalists. However, as a coach, he hasn't softened his attitude toward them either.

It's not just in Spain, since during his time at Roma he also had several very controversial press conferences. Now that he is in Paris, it seems he's following the same path with journalists. Even after winning the first Champions League in PSG's history in a moment of joy.

On the field, and in the midst of euphoria, he approached to speak to the rights-holding television channel, Movistar. Susana Guasch, Álvaro Benito, and Mónica Marchante were waiting there to get his statements. Luis Enrique made a very striking comment about the first one.

"I'm here for Mónica, you all know that, for Alvarito less, and for you barely at all," said Luis Enrique. It was a jab at Susana Guasch even in a moment of celebration like the one he was experiencing.  "Time is passing, how much has gone by?" the journalist pointed out to him after that "clapback."

The confrontation between Luis Enrique and Susana Guasch goes way back

It may be surprising that in a moment of euphoria Luis Enrique delivered a "clapback" like that. Especially because his confrontation with Susana Guasch goes way back, when he was coaching Barça. They had their ups and downs in several interviews after matches, with moments of great tension between them.

Especially nine years ago, when Barça had been eliminated from the Champions League by Atlético. Luis Enrique was blunt: "Your analysis is quite superficial, quite gratuitous. It has nothing to do with that of a professional, talk about whatever you want, I'll answer whatever I feel like."

Soon after, the journalist had much more difficulty getting the Asturian coach to speak to her. In fact, she publicly reported that Barça had banned her media outlet. They stopped giving statements in Champions League matches, and it seems the coach hasn't moved on since then.
