Luis Figo's reaction after Pedro Sánchez apologized for the UCO report

The former footballer has reacted with laughter to a parody that mimics President Pedro Sánchez's speech asking for forgiveness

Luis Figo has once again stirred up a commotion on social media. The former footballer reacted with irony to a parody published by Los Meconios, where President Pedro Sánchez is "imitated" asking for forgiveness after the scandal involving the UCO report on PSOE.

The video, which has gone viral on X, shows the president of the government singing a sort of public apology disguised in his refusal to leave Moncloa. Figo quickly shared the post with a brief but forceful message:
"So good 😂😂😂".

The comment has sparked thousands of reactions and has once again placed the Portuguese ex-footballer at the center of the political debate.

An explosive UCO report

The Portuguese's reaction comes after the scandal caused by the publication of an extensive 480-page (480 páginas) report prepared by the Central Operative Unit of the Civil Guard (UCO).

The document reveals alleged illegal financing by PSOE, with direct implications for high-ranking party officials such as Santos Cerdán, Koldo García, and José Luis Ábalos.

According to the dossier, the three allegedly participated in conversations about the distribution of up to €570,000 (570.000 euros) in illegal commissions related to the awarding of public works contracts.

The report also highlights a conversation in which an adviser warns a high-ranking party official that management would demand "the tax", suggesting the existence of a parallel payment structure.

Another part of the report links Cerdán to alleged fraud in PSOE's 2014 primaries, which propelled Sánchez to the general secretariat. In that episode, Cerdán allegedly ordered Koldo to introduce absentee ballots to alter the result.

Additionally, it is mentioned that Tatiana Ábalos, daughter of the former minister, allegedly received money for her NGO through Cerdán. It is also noted that the latter mediated to place "Nicole," a supposed lover of Koldo García, in a public company.

Sánchez asks for forgiveness, but doesn't resign

Amid media pressure, President Pedro Sánchez appeared to apologize, although he claimed he had no knowledge of the events and that he doesn't intend to resign.

Meanwhile, Santos Cerdán resigned from all his positions after the report became public.

Figo, as on other occasions, has used his platform on social media to once again criticize the current government. Without directly mentioning anyone, he let the video and his comment speak for themselves.
