Lunin, tempted by a massive Premier League offer that would change everything

The major Premier League clubs that have shown interest in signing Lunin

Thibaut Courtois's injury two seasons ago was an opportunity that Andriy Lunin didn't waste. In the Belgian's absence, Lunin was the starting goalkeeper for most of the season. Although Lunin has returned to being a substitute, this could change due to interest from Newcastle and Manchester United, according to Defensa Central.

Both Premier League clubs are looking to strengthen their goalkeeping position for next season. Although Lunin isn't looking to leave Real Madrid, his lack of playing time could lead him to seek another destination. After enjoying the spotlight as Real Madrid's starting goalkeeper, Lunin has been working to return to this role.

This is a difficult task since he has to compete against Thibaut Courtois. Although neither club has made an offer yet, it's only a matter of time. With the way the market is progressing, Real Madrid is at risk of losing the Ukrainian goalkeeper.

Premier League interest

At 26 years old, Andriy Lunin is about to play his sixth season as Real Madrid's goalkeeper. Although he joined the club in 2018, Lunin went through several loan spells before settling at the club in 2020. Leganés, Real Valladolid, and Real Oviedo were the clubs where he was loaned out and gained important experience.

His level during the 23/24 season showed his ability to perform at the top level. This is a quality that has been noticed by Newcastle and Manchester United. For years, the Premier League has had a reputation for being a very demanding competition.

Regarding Newcastle, the club is looking to have a reliable goalkeeper after winning the Carabao Cup last season. Meanwhile, for Manchester United, Ruben Amorim wants a goalkeeper who can provide depth and compete with André Onana.

Real Madrid's decision

With a value of €18 million (18 millones de euros) according to Transfermarkt, selling Lunin wouldn't be a bad deal. However, his departure would leave the club without depth in goal. Despite the high level Courtois has kept, his 33 years of age show the need for a backup.
