Álvaro Benito spoke about it, wanting to make his opinion on that penalty clear. "The contact is very slight, and it's a residual action," said the commentator on Movistar while analyzing the play. For him, VAR shouldn't have intervened, nor should it have been sanctioned.

It was an action that marked the match as it resulted in a 1-0 and ended in a highly contested draw. It's hard to understand why De Burgos Bengoetxea reviewed the play so much. He spent quite some time watching it before calling Soto Grado to see it on VAR.

Additionally, Madridists are very upset about several events that occurred during the analysis. From VAR, they informed Soto Grado that there was a stomp, which they can't do. And when he asked for more angles to judge properly, they didn't show them, making excuses for it.

Only Anti-Madridists See a Clear Penalty in Tchouaméni and Samu Lino's Action

It's curious how anti-Madridists immediately jumped in, making it clear that the penalty was well called. They didn't understand the doubts about that action between Tchouaméni and Samu Lino. But the truth is, they are the only ones who see it, as the rest can't believe it was called.

On Movistar, a Barça fan like Gerard López, a former Barça player, also indicated that it was poorly refereed. "It's a field penalty, not a VAR one," he said, adding that "calling him on such a borderline play and not such a clear play." Even he doesn't agree with the call.

But it goes further since neither Maldini nor Mateu Lahoz are Madridists, as has been demonstrated. And for them, VAR shouldn't have intervened either, as it wasn't a penalty. It's clear that no one understands a decision that once again harms Real Madrid.
