For the fourth consecutive time in recent years, Manchester City and Real Madrid will face each other in what many consider the new classic of Europe. The considerable amount of opinions and reactions to this matchup hasn't been long in coming.  However, one of the most outstanding is clearly that of Julio Maldini on his YouTube channel.

In this, unlike the previous three years where he favored Manchester City, he has decided to change his prediction. He considers that Manchester City's season, although gradually improving, is inferior in performance to Real Madrid. So, for the first time in the last four years, he gives a 60% favor to the white team to win the tie.

This generates a divided opinion among many football fans who consider this Spanish journalist a jinx. Therefore, many fear that by favoring Real Madrid, the hopes of the Merengues will evidently turn negative.

Maldini changes his prediction

The Spanish journalist in previous years extensively favored Manchester City against Real Madrid. He himself mentions that this perspective has changed with the start of the season and, above all, the level he is seeing between both teams.

"It's evident they preferred Celtic over Manchester City" is one of the most outstanding phrases from his speech. From his point of view, facing Manchester City is always bad news, especially based on Ancelotti's recent statements.

However, for many, the Champions League can only be won by facing the best, and City is one of them.  Therefore, trying to avoid one of the great teams of Europe is not good for the club and should be quite the opposite.
