Maldini reveals the center-back he would sign for Real Madrid in 2026
Maldini is certain which center-back Real Madrid should sign, one he likes very much and could join in 2026
Real Madrid is still searching for a center-back ahead of the next summer transfer window. In this context, Maldini has the ideal one.
He shared this through his YouTube channel.
Maldini would sign Konaté for Real Madrid
"Amazing signing, amazing signing", he began by saying about the possibility of Real Madrid signing him in 2026.
He highlighted all of this: "I think he's a center-back who plays the ball out well, I think he's quite fast at recovering, physically he's a powerhouse, he's good in the air. I think he's extremely complete."
He also spoke about the situation in that position for Real Madrid. "Considering that Madrid will often play with a back three (...) Could Rüdiger leave? Fine, perfect."

"You have Asencio, who right now would already be close to being a substitute. Especially if it's a back four, because Militao is better, Konaté if he arrives and, of course, Huijsen."
"But even with four at the back, a center pairing with Huijsen, Konaté, I think it's a spectacular combination," he continued explaining.
He finished by saying once again: "I really like Konaté, I have to say it."
Konaté could arrive in 2026
The Liverpool player finishes his contract in 2026 and would arrive at Real Madrid as a free agent at 27 years old.
It would be something similar to what was already done with Antonio Rüdiger, who also arrived as a free agent from English club Chelsea.
In this case, the player would come to strengthen a position in which Real Madrid has been suffering a lot in recent years. As Maldini says, surely no one doubts that he could be a spectacular signing.
We have to mention that Militao has been injured for almost 2 seasons. Rüdiger is getting older and Saudi Arabia is already tempting him.
David Alaba also finishes his contract in 2026 and his performance is not good at all. With all this, signing the Frenchman would be something very positive for Xabi Alonso's Real Madrid, without a doubt.
