Manola Lama reveals why he would sign Nico Williams and brings in Vinicius: 'Tomorrow...'
The journalist believes that signing Nico Williams is a 'bargain' and that it would allow you to pressure Vini with his salary
Manolo Lama is clear about it. If Real Madrid wants to strengthen their attack, signing Nico Williams is an opportunity they can't let slip away. He stated this on El Partidazo de COPE, where he recommended the operation emphatically:
“Madrid should sign him tomorrow morning”, Lama stated, after it became known that the club is seriously considering his arrival. The Athletic winger has a 58 million euro clause. A figure that, for the journalist, is a real bargain considering the current market.

“At that price, it's a steal”, Lama insisted. To compare, he recalled that Dean Huijsen has cost practically the same. Although he acknowledged that the center-back position is more of a priority, he assured that this shouldn't prevent Madrid from going for Nico.
An indirect message to Vinicius
Lama also took the opportunity to send a clear message about renewals. “You can tell Vinicius that you're no longer going to pay him what you were going to pay him”, he said, referring to the salary increase the Brazilian expects in his next contract extension.
Vinicius has attracted interest from major leagues like the Saudi one, with multimillion-dollar offers. Signing Nico would allow the club to move more freely in such negotiations.
Mbappé, Nico, and Vinicius, an unstoppable attack
Lama highlighted the tactical versatility offered by the Spanish international. Although his natural position is the left wing, “he can perfectly play on the right”, he assured.
This would open the door to a top-level forward line: Nico – Mbappé – Vinicius. An explosive combination to compete at the highest level.
A perfect operation if Rodrygo leaves
The journalist also analyzed Rodrygo's future. In his opinion, the Brazilian has a great market in the Premier League. And if he's sold for a high figure, signing Nico “pays for itself”.

He even mentioned Guardiola's interest, who would be delighted to have Rodrygo at Manchester City.
At just 21 years old, and after shining in the Euro Cup, Nico Williams is a player with room for improvement. And according to Lama, his current price is a great opportunity for Real Madrid. A move that could benefit the club both sportingly and economically.
