Mastantuono, MVP against Ramos and new Real Madrid signing speaks: 'Let's go...'
The words of the Argentine footballer are very well received in the offices of Valdebebas
One of the standout sensations of the Club World Cup isn't part of Real Madrid's squad, although it's only a matter of time before he joins Santiago Bernabéu locker room. Franco Mastantuono has been standing out in every match he plays with River Plate since the FIFA-organized competition began, being crowned as the MVP of the 0-0 draw against Monterrey, Sergio Ramos's team.
In his subsequent press conference, Franco Mastantuono acknowledged that the clash against the Mexican side had been "a very even match, where I think we had more very clear chances". In the opinion of River Plate's number "30", the Argentine side created the necessary opportunities "to be able to win the match".

He also admits that "we weren't sharp when it came to finishing and I think that's why we ended up with a draw. We have one last group stage match against probably the best team in the group": Inter Milan. The nerazurri side, now coached by Cristian Chivu, will also look to secure the top spot in this clash between the leading teams in Group E.
Despite the context surrounding that match, Franco Mastantuono makes it clear that "we're going to go out and fight for it and win as River commands. Obviously, it was important to win today but that's behind us now and we have to focus on Inter", a match that will determine both teams' chances of advancing to the knockout rounds.
Shows no doubt at any time
His upcoming clash against the Italian squad isn't the only thing Franco Mastantuono was asked about in that press conference after being named MVP of River-Monterrey. Nevertheless, he had to reiterate his commitment to the Argentine club and to the nearest goal: reaching the knockout stage of the Club World Cup.
"We're going to go out to win against Inter because we have to beat them. Because we're at a club like River that commands us to go out and win, we can't go out and speculate at all", Mastantuono warns about the Argentine squad's chances. That mentality is one of the reasons why Real Madrid trusts his signing so much.

So much so that River's number "30" himself states: "we're going to go out and play the match we've prepared for in these days and obviously the intention will be to win. We know it's a very tough opponent but I think it's clear what we're going to do" in a direct battle for first place in Group E.
Once again, Franco Mastantuono shows, both through his football performance and his mentality, that he's an ideal player for the current Real Madrid. The generational change in midfield, in a way, depends on his boots... In the Valdebebas offices, they can't wait for him to be under Xabi Alonso's orders starting in the 25/26 season.
