Mbappé isn't training and he's almost out of Real Madrid's debut for this reason

Bad news for Xabi Alonso ahead of his debut as Real Madrid's coach this Wednesday. They face Al Hilal in the first matchday of the Club World Cup group stage. He could do so with a very important last-minute absence that affects his plans.

The players have come out to train in the last session before the match and Mbappé wasn't with them. The Frenchman has been dealing with a fever since yesterday, Monday, and isn't training. So right now he's doubtful for Wednesday's match against Al Hilal.

Everything started this Monday, when Mbappé reportedly trained without showing any symptoms of illness. However, upon arriving at the hotel he reported that he wasn't feeling well. In fact, his absence from the FIFA photo session and the greeting with Florentino drew attention.

The reason was that the doctors were already with him to try to get him recovered as soon as possible. This absence continued on Tuesday, as he stayed at the hotel and didn't attend training. Kylian has a fever and will need to rest in hopes of being ready for the match.

Doubtful for facing Al Hilal this coming Wednesday

Real Madrid face Al Hilal this coming Wednesday in the first match of the Club World Cup. However, right now they have the big question of whether Mbappé will be fit. Even if his fever subsides, he might not be in Xabi Alonso's starting eleven.

The conditions they're experiencing in Miami, with heat and humidity, suggest not pushing any player. They don't want to take risks since a possible injury would be much worse thinking about the future. That's why it's doubtful that Mbappé will be ready to start in that match.

This will force Xabi Alonso to change his plans, which included Kylian starting. Brahim and Arda Güler are the two favorites to take his place up front alongside Vinícius and Rodrygo. However, we won't know for sure until the starting eleven is officially announced.
