Mbappé reveals the first impression Xabi Alonso gave him: 'I see a guy...'

The new Real Madrid is already underway. The September international break serves as a period of reflection for both players and coaching staff to analyze what has happened during the first three matchdays of this league. One of the first to speak out in this regard has been Kylian Mbappé.

While the French player is the absolute protagonist in the French national team camp, he has also found time to reveal his first impressions of Xabi Alonso. After all, the coach from Tolosa, something that is obvious at first glance, has very different methods and approaches compared to those used by Carlo Ancelotti in the past.

In statements to the German newspaper BILD, Real Madrid's new "10" has made it clear that his current coach "made a great impression on me". Not only because he is a Madridist legend, a figure highly respected by all levels of the entity presided over by Florentino Pérez. Also because "I see a guy eager to succeed".

Mbappé is also aware that Xabi Alonso has a long history with Real Madrid. The current coach from Tolosa played for the white squad for six years, becoming one of the most charismatic and memorable players of the time. "He knows the club perfectly because he played here", recalls the Bondy forward.

A lot of pressure

The differences regarding the training sessions are more than noticeable, reveals the French player. Even though he is now under the methods of the coaching staff that arrived from Bayer Leverkusen, Kylian Mbappé defends himself: "We just try to implement what he tells us" without hesitation.

These first weeks of the league competition, in addition to the experiences lived in the Club World Cup, are a period of full adaptation to those more modern tactical principles. "We try to understand the plan he has for us", concludes Kylian Mbappé regarding Xabi Alonso.

The coach from Tolosa has a huge responsibility as Carlo Ancelotti's successor: to get the first team back on the winning track as soon as possible... in all the competitions that will be played during the current soccer season.
