The Croatian has three options on the table to continue his career, although he sets one condition
This past Saturday Modric said goodbye to Real Madrid in an emotional farewell at Bernabéu. The moment of his substitution against Real Sociedad, his embrace with Kroos, tears were shed everywhere. However, the Club World Cup still remains to be played, which will be his last service to Madridism.
The truth is that people are already starting to talk about possible destinations for Modric next season. He would have 3 options on the table to keep enjoying soccer. Although right now it seems there's one that attracts him more than the others.
His preferred option, and his family's, is to move to the United States to play in MLS. There, Inter Miami is the team most interested in acquiring Luka Modric's services. He could end his career playing alongside Leo Messi, which would be a real bomb for the American club.
That's not all, as different Brazilian clubs have also reportedly contacted the Croatian. Meanwhile, from Saudi Arabia, who already tried in the past, they're ready to make another attempt for him. Al-Nasser and Al-Ettifaq are currently the clubs that have taken positions to achieve it.
Modric with a clear idea, but open to changes
Modric wanted to stay at Real Madrid but in the end the offer for his contract renewal never arrived. That forces the Croatian to look for a new destination, since he doesn't plan to hang up his boots this summer. He wants to extend his career at least one more season with a clear goal.
Next summer, in 2026,the World Cup will take place and Modric wants to play it as the culmination of his career. That's why he wanted to stay one more year at Real Madrid, to arrive in the best possible condition. That's something he's going to request from his new team so he can help Croatia in that tournament.
The sports project will be the main factor in Luka's decision, above almost anything else. He wants them to keep him in shape during the next year. He also wants his family to be happy and that could be decisive in his choice.
