Neymar's Most Viral Revelation About Real Madrid: 'a Blank Check...'
The Brazilian footballer has returned to Santos after failing to succeed in Saudi Arabia.
One of the reference players of recent years has been, without a doubt, Neymar Jr. The former footballer of FC Barcelona, who arrived in our country in 2013 from Santos, seemed destined to succeed Leo Messi at the blaugrana club, joining him alongside Luis Suárez. But PSG intervened to change the course of history with a offer of 222 million euros.
The board of directors led by Josep Maria Bartomeu then accepted that approach, making the verdeamarelo footballer leave for the Parc des Princes immediately. But always, even while he was playing for PSG, there was speculation about the possibility of Neymar signing for Real Madrid. These hypotheses have finally been solved by Neymar Jr. himself.

In his interview for the podcast Podpah, the current player of Brazilian Santos acknowledged that the case "is difficult. I received the proposal from both, from Barcelona the proposal was this and from Real Madrid it was practically a blank check". Neymar recalls that the executives led by Florentino Pérez approached him with the following offer: "put it on paper and we'll pay".
Real Madrid's attempts to acquire Neymar's football services were much more serious than they seemed, according to the Carioca winger. "If I had gone to Madrid, I would have earned three times more than in Barcelona", reveals Neymar Jr.
Tells It All
The footballer also remembers that "Florentino always liked me and talked to me, he wanted me to play at Real Madrid. But I ended up listening to my heart, my dream was to play at Barcelona: Ronaldinho, Messi... My dream was to play with Messi and there I decided to go to Barcelona", says the former '10' of PSG.
The reality is that Real Madrid was always interested in acquiring Neymar Jr.'s services. The South American footballer caught the attention of the executives led by Florentino Pérez, who tried to forge his arrival at Santiago Bernabéu locker room that summer. They couldn't achieve it because, as Neymar himself has revealed on several occasions, his true goal was to wear the FC Barcelona jersey.

As a response to this failed signing of Neymar Jr., the sports management of the Madrid team tried and succeeded in one of the most glorious transfers of recent years: Gareth Bale. The arrival of the 'Cardiff Express' to the white sports discipline led to the creation of a forever remembered attacking trident: the BBC.
The Welsh striker, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, became one of the main athletes of his time, being directly responsible for the club's most winning era. However, the end of his career at the white club will always remain as the undeserved burden to a story of unimaginable competitive successes.
