Not now nor in July: the definitive date when Franco Mastantuono will join
Real Madrid will not be able to count on the Argentine midfielder during the Club World Cup
Real Madrid continues to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025 Club World Cup, and one of the names highlighted on their agenda is Franco Mastantuono. The young Argentine talent has chosen to wear white, and everything indicates that an agreement with the Merengue club already exists.
However, at River Plate, they aren't giving up and dream of keeping him. They aren't only thinking about the international tournament, but about the entire season. The Argentine side is doing everything possible to convince the right winger to stay.
River Plate's goal is for Franco Mastantuono to play in the Club World Cup. Real Madrid has accepted this request, although the white club has tried to push until the last moment. However, the Argentine team also wants the footballer to play the first round of the Copa Libertadores.

River Plate's new plan with Franco Mastantuono
News about Franco Mastantuono's signing is moving in two directions. On one hand, Real Madrid intends to bring him in before the 2025 Club World Cup. On the other hand, there's also the possibility of waiting until August, when the player will turn 18 years old.
Meanwhile, at River Plate, they have different plans. According to Jorge Pablo Brito, president of the Argentine club, the idea is to try to keep the player as long as possible. "We have to respect the contract he signed, protect the club's interests down to the last cent, and try to keep him as long as we can", he stated.
"If the player decides to leave and pays the clause, you don't have much to do. We tried to keep Mastantuono as long as possible", he added in an interview with Gero Frare.
"Many times they say, "hey, why didn't you raise the clause." It's not that I didn't think of it. It's something that's negotiated and the agents ask for the clause not to be abusive", explained the president of River Plate.
When would he arrive in Madrid?
If River Plate's plan is carried out, Franco Mastantuono wouldn't arrive in Madrid until next August. In fact, the key day would be August 15. That date is selected for River Plate to play the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores.

From there, Franco Mastantuono would take a plane from Argentina to Spain on August 16 to report to Xabi Alonso as soon as possible. It's worth noting that the Spanish LaLiga will start on August 17, so the dates would be extremely close together.
