The new date for Real Madrid - Osasuna if the Whites reach the Club World Cup final
The postponement of the first matchday of La Liga depends on whether Real Madrid reach the Club World Cup final
Real Madrid's schedule is subject to possible changes. Everything depends on the result against PSG. If Xabi Alonso's side manage to reach the Club World Cup final, the match on matchday 1 against Osasuna would be postponed.
For now, LaLiga hasn't made a firm decision. Moves are being made. If Madrid lose tonight, the match against Osasuna will be played as scheduled.
Meanwhile, if it wins and plays in Sunday's final, there's more flexibility. The door would open to scheduling the match between matchdays 2 and 3.
A change that depends on Sunday
According to Anton Meana on El Larguero, the key lies in that possible title match. If Madrid reaches the final, there are real options to reschedule the match.
The date proposed by the club, October 29 (29 de octubre), doesn't seem viable. But it could be played in August, right between the first two matchdays.
There are doubts from the Federation, but also a certain willingness to negotiate. Rafael Louzán, president of the Competition Committee, would be open to a negotiated solution.
Butragueño's request remains on the table
Real Madrid had already requested to postpone its league debut to have more rest after the World Cup. Emilio Butragueño was in charge of presenting the proposal.

So far, there hasn't been an official response. If the club reaches the final, that request would gain strength.
Tebas isn't very fond of changes. If the Federation supports it, he could be forced to give in.
Tight schedule in August
The idea would be to prevent Madrid from starting with a physical disadvantage compared to other clubs. The plan to play three matchdays before the international break remains in place, but with room to move one date.
The Real Madrid-Osasuna match wouldn't be postponed for several months, but just a few days. That option would be seen as a fair balance.
Everything is hanging in the air. Reaching the final will decide it. If Madrid wins, the schedule will change. If it loses, it will play on the scheduled date.
The ball is in Xabi Alonso and his players' court.
