Guardiola's New Excuse in Press Conference After Losing to Real Madrid

Pep Guardiola still hasn't come to terms with what he's experiencing this season with Manchester City

Manchester City fell 2-3 to Real Madrid at Etihad Stadium, in a match where the Citizens took a real hit in the Champions League.

This is something Pep Guardiola still can't come to terms with, who is experiencing the worst season of his coaching career.

"We need to recover and move forward. The hours and the day following such a defeat are tough, but the next day we're already better. Today we're better than yesterday, and tomorrow we'll be better than today," expressed the Catalan coach.

Tough Test in the Premier League

This hard blow received in the UEFA Champions League  makes the Premier League take on more significance.

Manchester City will host Newcastle United this Saturday at Etihad Stadium, in a tough league test where much more than three points will be at stake.

"Of course, whenever we win, we're in a better mood. But we must be cautious because the season will continue, and we need to try to get better results more often. But yes, a good result would be nice for the upcoming matches," indicated the Spanish coach.

Guardiola's Excuses

In light of the disastrous season they are experiencing, Pep Guardiola is already starting to prepare his fans for the worst.

Manchester City has practically no chance of fighting for the Premier League and is on the brink of elimination in the UEFA Champions League.

These terrible sports results have led Guardiola to resort to excuses in front of the press.

"A bad season in 8/9 years, it can happen.  Have you seen Liverpool this season? They can't make 100 points anymore, definitely not. 99, but not 100, and look at the season they've had! That made me realize: Wow, what we've done...!" assured the Manchester City coach.

If their elimination in the UEFA Champions League is confirmed, Guardiola will have to focus on securing a ticket for the next edition of the tournament.

This, for now, doesn't seem easy, as there are many in the Premier League fighting for the same goal and the Citizens continue in free fall.
