Asencio's warning to Huijsen days before reuniting at the World Cup with Real Madrid

The Canary Islands footballer from Real Madrid keeps training ahead of the Club World Cup

There's less and less time left until the first Club World Cup with FIFA's new format, which will feature 32 teams. There will be three group stage matches and knockout rounds starting from the round of 16 for the top two teams in each group. However, the first key date of the tournament for Real Madrid isn't its start, set for June 14, but four days later.

Real Madrid has taken this new FIFA tournament, which will crown the best club in the world, very seriously. After winning the last Club World Cup with the old four-team format, the white team now aims to be the first to have its name inscribed in this new competition. Just as happened with the birth of the European Cup, Real Madrid wants to lead from the start.

A renewed Real Madrid for the Club World Cup

Real Madrid has focused its attention on the market with the goal of strengthening its squad for the new Club World Cup, especially prioritizing the defense. Huijsen was the first confirmed signing, key to partnering with Asencio at the heart of the defense given the uncertainty about Rüdiger's condition. The second reinforcement has been Trent Alexander-Arnold, brought in to strengthen the right back position due to Lucas Vázquez's lackluster performance.

In addition, the signing of Álvaro Carreras is expected to be fully completed for the Club World Cup. If so, Xabi Alonso will have up to three new players to compete in the United States.

Signing a midfielder isn't ruled out either, although everything suggests one could arrive after the Club World Cup. Names continue to be mentioned, but the profiles of Franco Mastantuono and Angelo Stiller have been gaining more traction in recent days.

Raúl Asencio's latest message to Dean Huijsen

Raúl Asencio knows perfectly well that Dean Huijsen's signing could leave him without the minutes he did have last season. In the Club World Cup, Xabi Alonso will have both available given the doubts surrounding Rüdiger. However, everything could change with the German's return.

For this reason, while Dean Huijsen is training with Spain, Raúl Asencio keeps working individually. The Canary Islands defender wants to be one of the two starting defenders in Xabi Alonso's system and that's why he doesn't want to waste any time.
