His departure as a free agent has been confirmed in that video posted by Alexander-Arnold himself on his official social media profiles, leading to various reports.

Two of the most renowned and recognizable journalists regarding mercato information, Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein, have reported on the new contractual situation of Trent Alexander-Arnold. According to both reporters, Real Madrid would have managed to secure a verbal agreement with the entourage of Liverpool's current '66', a preliminary step to the final signing of his contract.

Everything points, according to Romano and Ornstein, to Trent Alexander-Arnold definitively joining Santiago Bernabéu locker room during the next month of July. The presence of the Club World Cup, despite all the rumors launched in recent days, would not affect the signing of the British right-back.

Although both journalists agree in pointing out that Trent Alexander-Arnold will arrive as a free agent at Real Madrid this summer, the major discrepancy is in the years of the contract. Fabrizio Romano, in his social media post, reveals that the white sports management has proposed a five-year extended contract.

Meanwhile, the journalist from 'The Athletic' argues that the white bosses would be hoping to secure the signature on a contract that would last six seasons starting this July. In any case, the agreement could be finalized in a matter of weeks.
