Official Dates for Real Madrid - Atlético in the Champions League Round of 16
The matches between Real Madrid and Atlético finally have an official date and time.
After the play-offs phase, Real Madrid was waiting for its opponent for the round of 16. Through another draw, the white club will have to face Atlético de Madrid in two matches that won't be easy at all. Having faced each other several times in the past in the Champions League, the merengue team is confident in being able to secure victory.
With this duel confirmed, the only thing left to determine was the days and times for the first and second leg matches. The first will be on Tuesday, March 4 at 9:00 p.m. at Santiago Bernabéu stadium. This confirms that, for the first leg, Real Madrid will have the home advantage.

However, this leaves the second leg as the most challenging match of this series against Atlético. The match at the Wanda Metropolitano will be on Wednesday, March 12 also at 9:00 p.m.
A Duel for the Ages
Manchester City's elimination showed that Real Madrid has returned to its best level. With a brilliant Kylian Mbappé leading the way, the club increasingly confirms its position as the favorite to win the Champions. However, in order to conquer the sixteenth Champions in its history, the club will have to face its historic rival.
Atlético de Madrid has always been a team that, for several seasons, finds a way to complicate things for Real Madrid. With the second leg being at the red-and-white house, the merengues are clear that they must take advantage at the Bernabéu.

With the official dates and times, the merengue team now knows the time it will have to prepare. With their minds set on advancing to the quarterfinals, Real Madrid will do everything possible to leave Atlético with no options in both matches.
The Clear Favorite
Despite Atlético being a tough opponent in LaLiga, the Champions League has always been a different story for Real Madrid. Having beaten the red-and-whites countless times, the club is confident in being able to continue this unbeatable streak.
