Paco González Delivers the Rant of the Century Against Tebas over Real Madrid's Schedules

Real Madrid was the only team in the Champions League quarterfinals that played on Sunday

Once again, Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid, showed his discontent with the scheduling. It was during the press conference before the match against Alavés that the white team won by the minimum (0-1). The Italian coach expressed his dissatisfaction with the difference in rest days between his team and Arsenal, looking ahead to the second leg of the quarter-finals.

Mikel Arteta's players played their Premier match at the Emirates on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Meanwhile, Real Madrid did not play their LaLiga match until 4:15 p.m. on Sunday. Additionally, the Madrid team was the only one of the eight quarter-final teams that did not play on Saturday.

Carlo Ancelotti's Complaints About the Schedule

"We don't understand it but it is what it is. This season has been like this. It doesn't make sense but the truth is we have more than 72 hours of rest, so we can't complain", commented Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian coach, using irony, complained about the schedule imposed by LaLiga. At least, Real Madrid will have more than 72 hours of rest between matches, something that hasn't happened on other occasions.

Paco González Shows His Support for Real Madrid

Paco González, host of 'Tiempo de Juego' on 'Cadena COPE' opened his program with the Italian coach's statements. Additionally, the journalist made his opinion very clear regarding the competition's scheduling.

"Sometimes fatigue is in the head, but I want to refer to this. Ancelotti complained little yesterday that they had scheduled the match for Sunday", explained Paco González.

"The European schedule clearly harmed Barça this year, due to this short knockout, but the League schedule... it's normal for Madrid to criticize Tebas", he added.

"It's like the League wants to annoy, Barça gets an extra day of rest. So, Barça plays Tuesday and Madrid Wednesday. That means Madrid will go to the Copa final with two days and will play Saturday against Barça", commented Paco González.

"I know Madrid is coming off this year as a very whiny team, especially regarding refereeing. There are times when nothing happened, because they did logical things", concluded the journalist.
