Paco González Warns About VAR Audio and Puts Madrid on Alert: 'It's Edit...'
The journalist's words sow more doubt with Tchouaméni's penalty
At Real Madrid, they have been very wary of everything related to the refereeing body for a week. It's true that this is nothing new, but what happened in Cornellà prompted a reaction. That's how the letter requesting the VAR audios came about, which they still haven't received from the CTA.
With the atmosphere already heated, the classic arrived, and with it, the controversial penalty call on Tchouaméni. An action that was at least debatable and didn't leave Madridists satisfied. Much less so after seeing how quickly the audios were released at the end of the match.

However, the most alarming thing was the warning issued by Paco González after the match. The journalist listened to the audios and made a reflection that once again sows doubt. "What catches my attention is the beginning, you're officiating, and they say 'César, I recommend an OFR to evaluate a possible penalty,'" he began by saying.
He stated that "normally, you would say 'what penalty, what happened?'" He believes that "maybe they're talking about a play you haven't seen." That's why he reaches a conclusion: "I suppose it's edited because if not, it's sheepish for them to say I recommend a... okay, I'm going."
VAR Audios Generate Controversy Again
Far from clarifying the plays, VAR is causing even more doubts. We don't understand how they couldn't call on the Carlos Romero and Mbappé play, which was clear. Nor why they did intervene in the dubious penalty to evaluate the action.

As if that weren't enough, Paco González's words have sown more doubts about what we've heard. If they have really been edited, it's hard to believe if what they show us is true. Just as it's not understood why they don't show the ones from Cornellà.
The controversy doesn't seem to be dissipating so easily, although the match against City will help. But in the coming days, refereeing performances will be closely scrutinized. Waiting for them to release all the audios that have been requested for clarification.
