Although it hasn't been announced by his new club, Luka Modric is already a new player for AC Milan for next season. The Croatian footballer, who didn't renew his contract with Real Madrid, has chosen the Italians' offer to keep competing at the highest level. For now, the midfielder remains focused on the Club World Cup, but he's also excited about what's coming after the tournament. 

In statements collected by "La Gazzetta dello Sport", AC Milan President Igli Tare confirmed the player's arrival at San Siro. The Albanian President confirmed that Luka Modric will be one of the main pieces of the project led by Massimiliano Allegri. In fact, he also allowed himself the top-level of revealing some details even though the footballer is still part of Real Madrid.

"I spoke with him in person, I saw a guy who's very eager to be competitive. His arrival is essential for a group that needs players like that, with leadership. The first question Luka asked me was: "Will we be a team built to win the championship?"", confirmed Igli Tare.

Additionally, the President also revealed one of the goals of the new AC Milan with Luka Modric in midfield.

"We want to play with a midfield three, but one that can transform during matches. With a deep-lying midfielder like Luka, the team's technical level rises significantly", added the President.

In Milan they're extremely excited about the arrival of a footballer who's made history at the best club in the world. His signing for the Italian club goes far beyond that of a player who'll make a great impact on the field.

"It's important because of what he'll convey in terms of mentality, leadership, and professionalism. The fact that he's been a Milan fan since he was a child makes this story even more exciting", he explained.

Igli Tare once again made it clear that Luka Modric's decision is partly thanks to Boban, "rossonera" legend whom the Real Madrid footballer admired in his childhood.
