Edu Aguirre's Jab at Lamine Yamal, Barça Out and Collects Debts: 'Now...'

The  elimination of FC Barcelona against Inter Milan in the Champions League semifinals has left multiple points for analysis. One of the most striking, according to Edu Aguirre, would be one of the stars of the Barça squad:  Lamine Yamal. The trajectory and public statements of the '19' from Barcelona have caused much expectation for his performance, but he has not been able to lead the Catalan team to the final in Munich.

After another failure in the top continental competition, Edu Aguirre is clear: "the Champions League is another level, the Champions League is not these things. Barça right now can't win the Champions League" for a big reason. Because "offensively they play very well and they are kids who have a spectacular, amazing future, Lamine is very good", but "the Champions League is another level".

"An average Inter can't score seven goals against you in two matches", Edu Aguirre states.  "Barcelona defending is a disaster, seven goals in two matches. They complain about the referees, and the message from everyone, from Flick, who never talked about the referees, and they complain about the referees", a surprised Edu Aguirre points out.

The  reaction of FC Barcelona to their elimination in the European Cup is to point to those responsible for match management, as Jota Jordi also did in his intervention. "They have been criticizing Madrid for the Real Madrid TV videos, for what happened in the Copa del Rey and now they complain about the referees?", the Madrid commentator asks.

Harsh Verdict

Amid all these searches for an external culprit, Edu Aguirre is very clear:  "defend better, because Inter scored four against you. You had the historic comeback of the best Barça of the last 10 years and in the 93rd minute you're going home". After recalling how easily Inter Milan took the match to extra time during the added time, Edu Aguirre remembers the Barcelona player Lamine Yamal.

One of the most striking comments from the Barça footballer is  "as long as I win, they can't say anything to me". Edu Aguirre is clear: "well, boy, today they made you look bad. If the fans talked so much about the treble and boasted so much and mocked Real Madrid football-wise", the commentator points out about the behavior of some Barça fans.

"Well, now you have to lower your head and take the hit of the last ten years, because the expectations were very high, but this is the Champions League", insists Edu Aguirre. Real Madrid "has won six Champions Leagues in the last ten years, and the best Barça of the last ten years has managed to reach the semifinals".

Although Edu Aguirre understands FC Barcelona as  "a good team", the reality is that Inter Milan has sent them "home" in these semifinals. The commentator understands that now is the time to reflect on the mistakes and be more focused on the last matches to correct the errors made  against Inter Milan.
