Pedrerol announces it: new Real Madrid signing will play in the World Cup

The journalist reveals that Real Madrid have secured Álvaro Carreras and will pay an 'extra' so he can play in the World Cup

After the arrivals of Arnold and Huijsen, we already know who will be next.  Álvaro Carreras will be the new signing for Los Blancos and will be part of the squad that will compete in the upcoming Club World Cup.

Josep Pedrerol confirmed it on El Chiringuito. “Carreras is almost finalized to play in the Club World Cup,” the journalist stated. The club wants to have the left-back as soon as possible.

Carreras, currently at Benfica, is one of the top Spanish prospects. His arrival will strengthen the left-back position, one of the top priorities for the club's sporting management.

Madrid has managed to negotiate the player's price down. Although the youth player's release clause was €50 million, the deal will be closed at 45.

According to OkDiario, the payment will be divided into two parts. The club will pay €22.5 million now and another €22.5 million later. In addition, there will be a small additional payment.

This extra will allow the player to be released ahead of schedule. That way, he will be able to play in the Club World Cup wearing the Real Madrid jersey.
