Pedrerol uses irony to throw a jab at Flick on El Chiringuito: 'Don't invite...

The host criticizes that the Barça coach forbade celebrating in Cornellà and that yesterday the players didn't speak

Hansi Flick is already starting to leave his mark on the FC Barcelona bench. But not just because of his soccer. Also because of his decisions off the field.

On El Chiringuito, Josep Pedrerol didn't miss the opportunity to mock the new Barça coach.

The journalist made a direct comment, loaded with sarcasm, that quickly went viral: "If you throw a party, don't invite Flick."

Criticism of his style after the titles

It all stems from Flick's attitude after Barça's celebration of the three titles.  The German decided to cancel the players' speeches at Montjuïc. He also avoided the chants that many had prepared against Real Madrid and certain media outlets in Madrid.

For Flick, the most important thing was to keep the club's image. And not to spark a media war that could erupt after the euphoria.

However, for Pedrerol, this decision has been too cold. The Atresmedia journalist recalled that Flick had already halted previous celebrations, as happened after the victory in Cornellà. "First he doesn't let them celebrate, then he doesn't let them speak..." he said sarcastically.

"There won't be a party if Flick is there"

The host of El Chiringuito insisted that Flick is dampening any emotion after the blaugrana successes. And he launched his criticism with a phrase full of irony: "If you organize a party, make sure not to invite Flick."

Pedrerol understands that the German coach seeks to avoid controversies. But he also believes that he is repressing a group that has been attacked throughout the season. He believes the players deserved to express themselves, and that Flick has imposed excessive control.

There was a division of opinions in the studio. Some defended the coach's composure. Others, like Pedrerol himself, consider that he lacks passion and connection with the fans.

What is certain is that Flick has come to impose his style. On and off the field. And that doesn't always please everyone.

Pedrerol's phrase has been widely discussed on social media. For many, it sums up the anger of part of the Barça environment with the colder character of the new coach.

The debate remains open: sensibility or excessive control?
