The player who's running out of time with Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid

This footballer may not play at all this season with Real Madrid, and this could be their future

Real Madrid has its squad ready for Tuesday's match against Osasuna. However, there's a player in that squad who might not get many minutes with Alonso this season.

Dani Ceballos may play very little this season

According to AS newspaper:  "His status in Xabi's plans seems relegated to a minor role..." So, this outlet states that Ceballos likely won't be important to Xabi at Real Madrid

This same outlet says: "Ceballos's future is, once again this summer, hanging in the air. His return to Betis is once again in the background. A rumor that repeats every transfer window."

"With the same difficulties: Madrid's financial demands and a high salary that's hard for a struggling Betis to meet, like half the league, with the salary cap."

Ceballos shows interest in Betis

A few days ago, before returning to train with Real Madrid, Ceballos posted something on social media. An image training alone with the song "Quiero ser libre" by Los Chichos as the "soundtrack".

It's probably not something done in vain or by chance.  The most natural thing is that it's a message with a double meaning.

He also said this at the end of his vacation:

"Betis is my home and it always will be,"  also saying that he was open to anything regarding his future.

We'll see what ends up happening with Ceballos, but the natural thing is that he has many players ahead of him. Valverde, Bellingham, Tchouaméni, Arda, and Camavinga will surely get in before him, for example.

If he doesn't play with Real Madrid this season, he could look for a way out.

We have to remember that Dani Ceballos has a contract with Real Madrid until 2027. So if any club wants to sign him, they'll have to pay a transfer fee that satisfies Real Madrid.

Betis or another destination, we'll see which team might try to sign Ceballos as long as he wants to leave.
