Premier bids for Gonzalo, his release clause is very affordable: possible summer bomb

The academy graduate's level puts him in the spotlight of several English clubs

Gonzalo's performances at the Club World Cup aren't going unnoticed by anyone. Xabi Alonso placed his trust in him and his performance has shown that he wasn't wrong. To such an extent that Premier League clubs are now seriously threatening to sign him this summer.

Several clubs consider Gonzalo a signing to keep in mind this summer. After seeing the performance he's delivering in these matches, they've made up their minds. They're willing to make a financial effort by paying his release clause, which is very affordable.

It's set at €50 million ($54.4 million), and there are already reports suggesting that they could pay it. Two major Premier League clubs are studying whether to pay Gonzalo's release clause. It's a clear bet to secure his services for the long term.

However, it doesn't seem that Real Madrid is willing to let that happen, since they want to keep him at all costs. In fact, they're only considering his departure as a loan or by retaining his rights. This is something they already did with Nico Paz and want to repeat with the striker so he can keep progressing by getting more minutes.

Real Madrid has already received offers for Gonzalo

His 3 goals at the Club World Cup, plus one assist and very strong performances, haven't gone unnoticed. Madridists are delighted with the young academy player's participation. However, several clubs have already moved to try to secure his services.

Oviedo, in its return to the First Division, reportedly requested a loan for the Madrid striker. Meanwhile, from the Premier League, Sunderland reportedly offered €20 million ($21.8 million) to complete his transfer this summer. Real Madrid has rejected both proposals and isn't considering his departure.

Only if the player himself were to request to leave in order to get minutes would they reconsider their options. For now, Xabi Alonso trusts him to have him at his disposal throughout the season. He's the striker he requested from the club in the market, since he's earned his continuity with his performances.
