PSG pays double, €25M from Al Khelaifi for Real Madrid's coffers

The Parisian team is interested in a player with a past in the Madrid squad

A few days ago, Real Madrid officially announced the arrival of Dean Huijsen. The signing caused Paris Saint-Germain, which is looking for a defender, to miss out on their main target.

After this, the club led by Al Khelaifi will try to sign Mario Gila, a 24-year-old center-back who currently plays for Lazio and was developed in the Madrid youth academy.

Mario Gila has played 42 matches this season, 31 of which were in Serie A, where he only missed four games. In addition, he scored a goal against Fiorentina on matchday five of the league. He has also played ten matches in the Europa League, scoring another goal, and one more in the Coppa Italia.

The strength of Paris Saint-Germain lies in the quality of their players. To keep it, internal competition must be very intense. In defense, excluding Pacho and Marquinhos, the only backup option is Lucas Beraldo, who still hasn't shown his level in France. Meanwhile, both Kimpembe and Lucas Hernández arrive with doubts due to their recent injuries.

For this reason, Paris Saint-Germain is fully aware that they must strengthen during this transfer window. According to the newspaper AS, Mario Gila is a profile that is highly appreciated by the Parisian club's technical staff. He is a reliable, hard-working player who is willing to put the team's interests above any individual ambition.

Real Madrid will receive a percentage of the future sale

Mario Gila joined Lazio in the 2021/22 season for €6 million, and Real Madrid keeps 50% of a future sale. For this reason, the Italian club will try to inflate the transfer price as much as possible to ensure a capital gain of at least €20 million or €25 million.

The footballer believes that the time has come to take a step forward in his career. His goal is clear: to earn a place in the senior Spain national team. With regular playing time at his club, experience in European competitions, and solid performances, he hopes to be drafted by Luis de la Fuente.
