Ramón de Mon Explodes Over Real Madrid's Schedules and Comparisons: 'The...'

The Renowned Madridist Communicator Makes It Clear That Real Madrid Could Indeed Play on Sunday

The schedule for the Villarreal - Real Madrid match, which the whites won 1-2, has caused a new episode between the white club and LaLiga. The Madrid club expressed its complaint for not having the 72 hours of rest recommended by FIFA. Furthermore, it made it very clear that it will not play a match again without this rest time.

On the other hand, the versions of the two parties involved in this episode are contradictory. LaLiga claims that Real Madrid requested the schedule change outside the established deadline, which prevented it from being modified.

According to the competition, the schedule was set on February 25, and at that time there was no formal request from Real Madrid.

What Does Real Madrid Say About It?

Real Madrid, meanwhile, explained that it was Emilio Butragueño who communicated twice with LaLiga to request the schedule change. However, the response was always negative.

According to the club, the first time was after the match schedule was known, and the second, after the tie against Atlético de Madrid. On both occasions, LaLiga rejected the schedule change request.

Furthermore, according to reports from Cadena COPE, Emilio Butragueño formally requested the change by phone. After the Champions League overtime, Butragueño requested it again for the players' health. Both responses were negative from LaLiga's Director of Competitions, Raúl Ojeda.

Ramón de Mon and His Response About the Schedules

Several users of 'X' took advantage of the commotion to attack Real Madrid. Among them, Pepe Elías, a sports journalist from the city of Seville.

"Ancelotti bitterly complained today because Madrid - whose budget exceeds 1.1 billion - played a match without 72 hours of rest. He threatens not to show up for the next one", he wrote on 'X'.

"Real Betis, just this season, will have played ELEVEN matches by tomorrow, Sunday, without 72 hours having passed since the end of one and the start of another. Their budget doesn't reach 200M euros. Between the Guimaraes and Leganés matches, only 63 hours will have passed", he completed.

However, Ramón de Mon, upon seeing the tweet, did not hesitate to respond very forcefully to Pepe Elías's message.

"The key is that Betis's match can't be scheduled for Monday. Madrid's could be scheduled for Sunday. Let's not compare the number of matches one team and the other have played", replied Ramón de Mon.
