Ramón de Mon reveals the name, it will definitely be Florentino's next signing

The journalist states that Real Madrid remains focused on finalizing Carrera's signing and that it will do so after the Club World Cup

Álvaro Carreras will be Real Madrid's next signing. Ramón de Mon, a journalist close to the club, has confirmed this. According to his information, the Spanish full-back remains the top priority in the upper echelons of Bernabéu after the Club World Cup.

The Benfica player has been sending signals for weeks. In his latest Instagram posts, he has used emojis like white hearts and has shared songs with hidden messages. One of those songs talks about broken promises, a clear reference to his current situation with the Portuguese club.

According to de Mon, Carreras feels deceived. He thought his transfer to Real Madrid was finalized before the FIFA tournament. Chamartín also had that perception.

They claim Benfica accepted the initial terms, but changed its demands at the last minute.

Benfica blocked his departure

Real Madrid was willing to pay. They even agreed to pay the release clause to finalize the deal as soon as possible.

However, Benfica didn't want to let the player go before the Club World Cup. There were two reasons behind this.

First, the Portuguese club didn't want to weaken itself in the middle of the competition. Second, despite having signed Samuel Dahl, the undisputed starter is still Álvaro Carreras. It was unthinkable for them to let him leave right before the tournament, even if Madrid paid the agreed amount.

The feeling in Valdebebas is clear: Benfica played with timing. The Madrid board understands that, no matter what they did, the Portuguese weren't willing to close the deal before the tournament.

The signing will be finalized in July

Despite the disagreement, Real Madrid hasn't given up on Carreras. On the contrary. The club still considers the full-back a priority for the immediate future.

Barring any surprises, the signing will take place in July, once both teams have finished their participation in the Club World Cup.

Florentino Pérez has had the player on his list for months. Xabi Alonso also views him favorably.

Álvaro Carreras wants to return to Spain and wear white again. His desire is firm and the agreement with the footballer is complete. All that's left is to wait for the end of the competition.

Carreras will, without a doubt, be the next transfer completed by Real Madrid's president.
