Ramón de Mon reveals in DC if Jesús Vallejo can play against City: There are no doubts

Antonio Rüdiger's injury was one of the worst pieces of news for Real Madrid. Losing the pillar of their defense for the match against Manchester City, the team has been searching for a replacement. Among the players the club has, the name of Jesús Vallejo began to emerge with some strength as a possibility.

However, in a recent interview with Defensa Central, Ramón de Mon was blunt about the situation of the center-back. For the match against Manchester City, Ramón doesn't clearly see Vallejo being able to play any minutes. This is because the match is of a demand and level that the player has never been seen at.

This is why Ramón de Mon assured he has no doubt about Vallejo's absence. To further emphasize the center-back's situation, Ramón commented that he would prefer to see a center-back from Castilla first.

A clear absence

This season marked Jesús Vallejo's return to Real Madrid after his loan to Granada. Despite the confidence to play some minutes, the player has only managed to play 10 throughout the entire season. Even with the injuries the defense has suffered, it's evident that he doesn't have Ancelotti's trust to play more minutes.

Ramón de Mon only further confirmed the situation currently faced by the 28-year-old center-back. If Vallejo has barely played minutes since his return to the squad, it's unlikely he will for a match like this.

Due to this, and looking ahead to this knockout stage, Real Madrid continues to think about their pair of center-backs to face City. An important decision where clearly a Vallejo who is in the last six months of his contract with the team has no place.

An upcoming farewell

With Vallejo's absence being practically confirmed, it's only a matter of time before we also see his departure.  Without having Madrid's trust, the best for Vallejo is to take advantage of these months to find a club where he can continue his career.
