Real Madrid and Xabi Alonso have an agreement, 4 conditions to sign Wirtz

The Basque coach keeps 'pressing' to make this move a reality

There is no doubt that one of the signings Xabi Alonso would have requested at the Valdebebas offices is Florian Wirtz. The young German attacking midfielder is a footballer who has quickly become one of his regular starters at Bayer Leverkusen, offering performances that would fit perfectly in the merengue squad. That's why he has requested his signing for several weeks now.

From the Valdebebas offices, however, they show some reluctance to intervene in this signing attempt from the werkself entity. Not only because of the high total cost of the operation, likely exceeding 100 million euros, but also due to the fierce competition currently surrounding the midfielder. Bayern Munich and Liverpool, according to the magazine Kicker, are the teams best positioned to secure his services.

But Real Madrid has not yet ruled out securing the services of a midfielder, especially if his profile offers organizational and creative virtues with the ball at his feet. One of the key factors for carrying out this operation would be the absence of Jude Bellingham, as the English '5' would have finally decided to undergo surgery for his left shoulder injury. That means the Birmingham all-rounder would be out for about two months.

It will be a quite prolonged absence for one of the regular starters in the Madrid tactical scheme. That's why the white executives have revisited the possibility of signing a midfielder, although the temporary absence of Jude Bellingham seems to be the least significant reason for such intervention. There are three more reasons that would bring Florian Wirtz closer to Santiago Bernabéu locker room.

Not all have been fulfilled

The first is closely related to the next major competition on the Madrid calendar: the Club World Cup. The performance of the first-team players during the new category competition organized by FIFA would be key to resolving the debate about signing another midfielder. Everything will depend, at the same time, on the first impression that Xabi Alonso himself receives regarding the current configuration of the first team.

But the Basque coach seems to have anticipated that circumstance by requesting the arrival of a creative midfielder, a profile that the leaders led by Florentino Pérez have been seeking for several months. Any planned operation, especially if it is aimed at signing a footballer considered top-tier like Florian Wirtz, will require a strong investment.

In this context, the last circumstance that would intervene in the hypothetical signing of Florian Wirtz by Real Madrid is the players sold. Departures like the one led by Rodrygo Goes, which would leave a transfer fee of 100 million euros, would enable Madrid's approach to the werkself attacking midfielder. As long as these conditions are not met, the arrival of Bayer Leverkusen's '10' will be an impossibility.

In any case, Xabi Alonso continues to demand the arrival of a midfielder with great creative virtues to the squad. The Spanish coach wishes to avoid the problems Carlo Ancelotti has suffered during the current soccer season, with the lack of a clear game idea diminishing all competitive possibilities.
