Real Madrid builds its midfield for the future: Tchoauméni, Güler and a new signing

Xabi Alonso likes Adam Wharton a lot and considers him the ideal replacement for Toni Kroos; signing him is the goal

Real Madrid is already thinking about the midfield that will dominate the next decade. Xabi Alonso wants a solid and talented unit. That idea includes Aurélien Tchoauméni, Arda Güler, and a top-level reinforcement: Adam Wharton.

The English midfielder is one of the players who has grown the most in the Premier League. At just 22 years old, he has established himself at Crystal Palace and has attracted the interest of half of Europe. His profile is appreciated at Chamartín and he could become the next big signing for Los Blancos.

Wharton, the English gem Xabi Alonso wants

Xabi has asked for strength, quality, and potential for his engine room. Wharton fits all those requirements: he is dynamic, has range, and vision on the field. In England, they consider him the new "8" of reference and Madrid sees him as a natural successor to Toni Kroos.

The Basque coach knows that his squad needs a balance between experience and youth. With Camavinga, Valverde, and Tchoauméni already established, adding Wharton would give the club a boost in versatility. Alongside him, Arda Güler as a playmaker would make a difference.

The interest is not exclusive to Madrid. Manchester United, City, and Liverpool have also set their sights on Wharton. The Premier League doesn't want to let its new gem go, which complicates the operation.

Crystal Palace is aware of the value of its star. They are asking for up to 100 million euros for his departure, a figure that deters more than one club. However, Florentino Pérez has already shown that if the player fits the project, the financial effort can be made.

Kroos's replacement, a priority

Toni Kroos's retirement forced the search for alternatives. The German left a huge gap in the midfield. Madrid understands that Wharton is one of the few footballers capable of filling that void in the medium term.

The plan is clear: build a midfield to dominate Europe. Tchoauméni as the anchor, Güler as the creative brain, and Wharton as the all-rounder. A mix that excites and could define the next Madridist era.

The Englishman's future is not decided. If it depends on Xabi Alonso, Adam Wharton will end up wearing white.
