Real Madrid Castilla, heading to England to do what La Masia hasn't been able to

One of the greatest sources of pride for the Merengue institution, which has become even more prominent this past season, is Real Madrid Castilla. The reserve team has experienced extremely significant development in recent years with its coaches and team members. Now, according to what Defensa Central has learned, they are close to taking an important step in the Premier League International Cup U-21.

In an unbelievable turn of events,  the Merengue team has been invited to be part of this prestigious tournament in England. This, along with 16 English teams, where of course they will try to keep the title within England itself.

This is the first major international challenge that Álvaro Arbeloa will face in his new role as Castilla's coach. This comes after Raúl González Blanco's departure, who will move on to another project and, of course, is tasked with winning it.

Internationalizing the team again

It seems that at Real Madrid, they are not only focusing on the first team to achieve international success. Now Castilla also has the opportunity to compete in this tournament and bring it home to add to the Merengue coffers.

There are 16 English teams and 16 teams from across Europe that will compete for this title. Coincidentally, La Masia will not do so. Barcelona has not been one of the teams invited to this tournament, which says something about the current level of its academy.

The story is quite clear and they think that only their academy can produce talent. However, when the moment of truth arrives, it is Madrid that always stands out in these kinds of situations and not so much the Culers.

Prestige above all
