Real Madrid Achieved a Crucial 3-2 Victory Against Celta de Vigo at Santiago Bernabéu, corresponding to matchday 34 of LaLiga.

This result keeps the hopes of the white team alive in the fight for the title, placing them four points behind the leader, FC Barcelona, a week before the Clásico at Montjuïc.

Güler and Mbappé Make the Difference

From the start, Real Madrid showed an offensive attitude. Arda Güler, starting for the second consecutive matchday, was a protagonist from the first minute.

In the 3rd minute, he attempted a bicycle kick after a cross from Vinícius, which went wide. Celta replied with a header from Marcos Alonso that went close to the crossbar.

Mbappé extended the lead in the 39th minute with a right-footed shot from outside the area after an assist from Bellingham. Already in the second half, in the 48th minute, the Frenchman scored his double after a through pass from Güler, finishing with his left foot against Guaita.

Celta Reacts and Puts Madrid in Trouble

With the 3-0, Real Madrid seemed to relax, and Celta took advantage to close the gap. In the 68th minute, Javi Rodríguez scored after a rebound inside the area. In the 76th minute, Swedberg scored the second for the visitors after an assist from Iago Aspas, who had just entered the field.

Celta continued pressing in search of the equalizer. Courtois was decisive again by stopping a shot from Hugo Álvarez in the 78th minute. In the 86th minute, Aspas had a clear opportunity, but his shot was caught by the Belgian goalkeeper.

Real Madrid could have sealed the win in the 88th minute with a chance from Brahim, but Guaita prevented the goal. In added time, Mbappé was close to completing his hat-trick, but his shot went over the crossbar.

With this victory, Real Madrid adds three vital points and prepares for the decisive Clásico against Barcelona, which could determine the fate of the LaLiga title.
