Real Madrid could play against Luis Enrique's PSG in the World Cup at this stage

PSG would be a semifinal opponent on a path that promises to be very challenging for Real Madrid, with many tough rivals

Real Madrid already knows their roadmap for the new Club World Cup. The tournament kicks off in June 2025 in the United States, and Xabi Alonso's team enters as one of the main favorites. However, to lift the title, the path will be challenging.

Demanding group stage

Madrid has been placed in a demanding group. They will make their debut on June 18 against Al Hilal at 9:00 p.m. The second match will be on June 22, against Pachuca, also at 9:00 p.m. They will close the group stage against Salzburgo on June 27 at 3:00 a.m. Spanish time.

Three opponents with different styles. Al Hilal arrives with a squad full of stars. Pachuca relies on dynamic soccer. Salzburgo is one of the best teams in Austria, known for their high pressing.

Semifinal clash with PSG

If Real Madrid advances as group leader, they could face a high-voltage clash. In the semifinals, one of two teams awaits: Atlético de Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain, led by Luis Enrique. A duel full of intrigue.

PSG is experiencing a new era after Mbappé's departure to Real Madrid. Luis Enrique has built a solid team, with no stars above the group. It would be Kylian's reunion with his former team, but now from the other side.

Full path to the final

Before the semifinals, the white team will have to get through two more rounds. In the round of 32, they will face a very tough opponent: Juventus or Manchester City. Either one will be a high-level clash.

If they get past that round, in the quarterfinals they would face one of these three clubs: Borussia Dortmund, Fluminense, or River Plate. In particular, Dortmund arrives strong after their recent Champions League final.

In the final, possible opponents would be: Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, or once again Manchester City, if they haven't met earlier.

A tournament with top-level teams and a lot of wear and tear. It's also a unique opportunity for Xabi Alonso to make history in his first year. The challenge is enormous, but Real Madrid is ready.
