Real Madrid has already informed Alaba and Rüdiger about its future plan

Decision made at the club, both already know what is going to happen to them

There are still a couple of weeks left before the transfer window closes and Real Madrid still has pending matters. It seemed like they considered the squad finalized, but that hasn't been the case. Especially because Mastantuono has been registered with Castilla, leaving a spot open in the first team.

This has led to speculation about a possible signing that could arrive in the coming days. Konaté is the frontrunner, which is going to trigger a chain reaction involving several players. Alaba and Rüdiger already know Real Madrid's decision regarding their future.

Both of them have contracts expiring on June 30, 2026, so they're about to enter their final season. According to information obtained by Defensa Central, they have no intention of renewing either of them. That's what the club has reportedly communicated to the two center-backs.

Real Madrid signed Huijsen this summer as a major investment for both the present and the future. The plan is for Konaté to join as well, either now or as a free agent when his contract ends. The two of them, along with Asencio and Militao, are expected to form the central wall of the defense for the long term.

A clear decision and another that was more difficult

Real Madrid has made this decision regarding the two center-backs with the long term in mind. However, the truth is they had already made up their minds about Alaba some time ago, and even opened the door for him to leave this summer. His drop in performance and his physical problems were decisive in not offering him a contract renewal.

In Rüdiger's case, it was a bit more complicated since he has become a key pillar of the defense. Last season he wasn't at his best, perhaps already feeling the effects of age. At 32 years old, he is a footballer who is in the final stretch of his career.

That's why neither the Austrian nor the German will continue beyond next season. They already have their replacements in mind, and another could come up from Castilla. They want to see how Joan Martínez returns after his serious injury.
