Confirmed Lineups for Barcelona - Real Madrid: This Is How Ancelotti Starts

Italian Carlo Ancelotti has made his intentions clear to face Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final

Real Madrid is already ready for the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, in a duel where much more than a title will be at stake.

Carlo Ancelotti didn't appear before the media yesterday, but after beating Getafe, he did speak about this cup match.

"It's a final, there might be a favorite, but a final is a final. Anything can happen.  In a final, you have to defend well, and that way we'll also have our chances in attack," expressed the Italian coach in a press conference.

These words from Carlo Ancelotti already revealed his intentions for this Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.

The Italian, who has made his line-up official for this decisive cup duel, hasn't held back and has introduced more than one novelty.

Mbappé, Substitute

The big news is the inclusion of Rodrygo Goes in the line-up, which makes Kylian Mbappé a substitute, as the Merengue team will play with four midfielders tonight in Seville.

Carlo Ancelotti has decided to opt for a game system reinforcing the midfield, something very important in this Copa del Rey final.

"It could be a 4-4-2 with six midfielders and no forwards (smiles). It could be. In a final, you have to defend well, and that way we'll also have our chances in attack," was what the Italian coach indicated a few days ago, who had already hinted at this possibility to the media.

Additionally, Fede Valverde will play again in the midfield, providing much support on the right wing to Lucas Vázquez, who will wear the captain's armband tonight.

On the left wing, Carlo Ancelotti decided to bet on the experience and physical strength of Ferland Mendy, although he hasn't competed for more than 6 weeks, which could be noticeable against Lamine Yamal.

Clear Proposal

Real Madrid's coaching staff is clear that they will seek to control the ball and take advantage of the spaces left for Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappé.
